More than 100 years ago, on the 27th of February 1902, the Anglo-Palestinian Company set up in London, becoming in the long run Bank Leumi le-Israel with its first branch opened in Jaffa in 1903.

Today, Bank Leumi le-Israel has an international network in the most important financial-economic centers of the world: United States of America, Canada, England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Hong-Kong, Australia, North and South America, Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile.

The international network consists of 251 branches in Israel and 88 in other 22 countries worldwide, aspect that proves that the presence of Bank Leumi le-Israel in Romania represents an opportunity in order to ensure a correct value of the clients’ money.

The financial results of Leumi Group their own story: as at June 30, 2009 it recorded a net profit of USD 238.8 million, total managed assets USD 81.5 billion, own capital of USD 5.15 billion and an Israeli market share of 30% considering the total assets.

The Leumi Bank is defined as a banking corporation under the Banking (Licensing) Law, 1981, and holds a banking license under that law. As a "bank" and a "banking corporation" the Bank's activities are governed and delineated by a system of laws, orders and regulations, including inter alia the Banking Ordinance, the Bank of Israel Law, the Banking (Licensing) Law and the Banking (Service to Customer) Law, as well as directives, rules, instructions and position papers of the Supervisor of Banks.
